Re-Ropes · First independent supply & fit
Est. 1986
The UK original
The first independent company in the UK to provide a supply-and-fit roping service to the lift industry — four decades of ropes, and counting.
What our name is worth
Survey, supply, fit, guarantee. Every engagement since 1986 has run on the same promise — here is exactly what each word commits us to.
The assurances
We don't decorate the footer with borrowed logos. These are the six things that actually stand behind a Re-Ropes certificate.

The Re-Ropes method
Every engagement follows the same discipline: survey the installation, quote in writing, supply certified product, fit it properly, prove it runs — and guarantee the work.

Statutory thorough examination remains the competent person’s duty under LOLER 1998; Re-Ropes provides the surveys, works and supplementary-test support that make their job — and the duty holder’s — straightforward.
Plain answers
The work we do and the product we supply: ropes and components to specification, terminations correctly made, fitting completed to good practice, operation checked before handover. If something we supplied and fitted is wrong, we return and make it right — in writing, on record.
Certificates for every rope and chain supplied, confirmation of the works completed, and site sign-off — issued by email on completion. It is the file your competent person expects at the next thorough examination.
Passenger lifts are thoroughly examined at least every six months under LOLER 1998. Our surveys, technical reports and works give duty holders the roping evidence and remediation the competent person needs; where supplementary tests are specified under SAFed LG1, we support them — with the WH Scott Group’s accredited inspection capability behind us.
Because the habits independence forced in 1986 — measured surveys, honest recommendations, certificates with everything — are the same habits the industry now expects everywhere. We have simply had longer to practise them.
Lift Industry Specialists
Ask for the survey, read the quotation, check the certificates when they arrive. The method survives scrutiny — that's the point of having one.
