On a tall installation the suspension ropes themselves weigh hundreds of kilograms — and that weight changes sides as the car travels. Without compensation, traction demand and motor load swing floor by floor; with it, the system stays balanced, efficient and controllable.

Ask usDoes my lift need compensation?
It is a function of travel and rope weight — broadly, as travel grows, the moving weight of suspension rope becomes significant enough to need offsetting. If your installation was built with compensation, it needs it maintained; if ride or traction issues appear on a tall lift, the compensation is one of the first things we check.
Chains or ropes for compensation?
Chains (often sheathed for quietness) suit mid-rise duty; compensating ropes running through a tensioned sheave suit taller, faster installations. The original design normally decides — we supply and fit both.
Can travelling cables be replaced at the same time?
Yes, and it is often the efficient moment: the same access, the same shutdown, and the car’s whole hanging loom renewed together.
