Overview

Most lift disputes about ropes start with uncertainty: are these wires failing, is that groove worn, whose report do we trust? Our surveys replace opinion with measurement — diameters, tensions, wear patterns, groove profiles — recorded by engineers who have seen every failure mode the industry produces.

In detail

The output is a written technical report you can act on: what is wearing, why, how long it can safely run, and what intervention (if any) is justified. Where thorough examination raises questions under LOLER, we support the supplementary tests the competent person specifies in line with SAFed LG1.

What does a rope survey include?

Visual and measured examination of every rope in the set — broken wire counts and positions, diameter measurements against nominal, lubrication and corrosion state — plus terminations, tension comparison across the set, and sheave/diverter groove condition. Findings arrive as a written, photographed report with recommendations.

Are your reports accepted for LOLER purposes?

Our technical reports inform the duty holder and support the competent person’s thorough examination; where the competent person specifies supplementary tests under SAFed LG1, we provide the roping expertise and works to support them. The statutory examination itself remains the competent person’s.

Can you survey a full portfolio?

Yes — planned survey programmes across estates are routine, giving property and FM teams a prioritised, budgeted view of roping condition instead of per-lift surprises.
