PAWO F7S — High-Performance Steel-Core

8×19 Warrington on an IWRC heart — stability under duty.

PAWO F7S puts a Warrington 8×19 outer over an independent wire rope core (IWRC) at 1570 N/mm² grade — the stock designation reads 8×19W-IWRC 1570 U sZ. The steel heart adds strength, crush resistance and dimensional stability where fibre cores run out of headroom.

Breaking forces and full mechanical properties are stated on the certificate issued with each rope — supplied against the applicable standard, never quoted generically.

High duty asks questions fibre cores answer poorly: heavier cars, taller travels, tighter stretch budgets. An IWRC is a rope within the rope — it holds diameter under groove pressure, trims constructional stretch, and carries load the strands alone cannot.

F7S is our stocked high-performance steel-core line (8 mm on the shelf in quantity), with the wider F-series available against specification. If you are speccing an MRL package or replacing a steel-core original, this is the family.

Why this line

  • Steel heart: crush resistance and diameter stability in the groove
  • Lower constructional stretch — fewer shortening visits on tall travels
  • Warrington outers balance flexibility and wear

Typical applications

  • Machine-room-less packages specifying steel-core rope
  • High-rise and high-duty traction installations
  • Steel-core originals at re-rope

Ordering questions

Ask ours
Can I substitute F7S for a fibre-core original?

Not casually — core type changes stretch, diameter behaviour and sometimes traction. Where an upgrade is genuinely wanted, it is an engineered decision our technical team confirms against the installation, not a like-for-like swap.
