Traction Sheaves & Diverters
The iron half of traction, supplied and machined.
Replacement traction sheaves and diverter pulleys, supplied against the installation’s specification and backed by our regrooving service — because rope life is decided as much in the iron as in the steel.

Stock position
Sheaves and diverters held in stock; specials cast and machined to pattern with quoted lead times.
Specification
| Sheaves | Traction sheaves — supplied for all makes |
| Diverters | Diverter/deflector pulleys to rope size and construction |
| Machining | Regrooving to true, matched profile (see service) |
| Duty | Traction and diverter duty across arrangements |
Breaking forces and full mechanical properties are stated on the certificate issued with each rope — supplied against the applicable standard, never quoted generically.
We keep sheaves and diverters in stock (thirty-odd sheaves at the last ledger count) and machine grooves daily. When a survey finds grooves past machining limits, replacement is quoted with the roping works so the whole traction interface renews together.
Every sheave conversation starts with gauging: profile, undercut and differential wear measured, then the honest recommendation — machine or replace.
Why this line
- Stocked sheaves shorten machine-room downtime
- Groove profiles matched to rope construction at supply
- One package with ropes — the interface renews as a system
Typical applications
- Sheaves beyond regrooving limits
- Diverter renewal on multi-bend reeving
- Traction restoration packages
Do you match grooves to my new ropes?
Yes — groove profile is specified against the rope construction and diameter being fitted, which is exactly why buying sheave and ropes together beats buying them apart.
