Kiswire Hoist Rope — 8×19S & 8×25Fi Family

A second engineered source for traction suspension.

Kiswire is the Busan rope maker that has led Korea’s special steel wire industry since 1945, and it publishes a dedicated elevator range: eight-strand suspension in steel and fibre core, six-strand suspension and compensation, and the ten-strand Hyele 10 for high-rise. Re-Ropes supplies it as a second manufacturing source alongside Gustav Wolf.

Breaking forces and full mechanical properties are stated on the certificate issued with each rope — supplied against the applicable standard, never quoted generically.

One rope maker is a supply chain with a single point of failure. Kiswire gives the works a second engineered source for traction suspension duty — a genuine alternative construction set, not a substitute chosen on price.

The properties Kiswire specifies its elevator ropes for are exactly the ones that decide rope life: uniform diameter along the length, controlled grease content in the core, minimum elongation in service, and wear behaviour that spares the traction sheave. Supplied like everything else here — cut to measured length in Erith, terminations fitted to order, certificate with the rope.

Why this line

  • Uniform rope diameter along the length
  • Controlled grease content in the rope core
  • Minimum elongation in service
  • Wear behaviour that spares traction sheaves and diverters

Typical applications

  • Traction lift suspension sets
  • Overspeed governor loops
  • Compensation on mid- and high-travel installations

Ask ours
Why supply two rope manufacturers?

Availability and fit. Two engineered sources mean a set can still be quoted when one maker’s lead time slips, and it widens the constructions we can put against an unusual duty. Both are dedicated lift-rope makers — this is a second engineered source, not a cheaper substitute.

Can Kiswire rope go onto an installation currently running Gustav Wolf?

Where construction, diameter, grade and lay are equivalent and the installation specification allows it, yes — but never mixed within one suspension set. Ropes in a set have to match so they share load and stretch together, so we replace a set complete, on one designation.
